Productive exchange at Studio-Workshop Martha Jimenez with North American University

Camaguey- A productive exchange between cultural professionals and members of Winston-Salem State University took place recently at the Martha Jimenez's Studio-Workshop, located in the city of Camaguey.

This is the second time that people from that university visit the aforementioned cultural institution, said Yaniel Perez Guerra, a specialist and curator of the aforementioned Studio-Workshop.

The intregrants of this group study the development of the black race, its insertion in the different periods and in the different societies. Then, they visit Cuba to get first-hand experiences and receive practical classes, of what they have been taught in theory.

One of the managers of this project is the MSc. Kezia Sabrina Henry Knight, who gives lectures every year on these issues of black racialism. This year her lecture was about the intellectual development of black women.

On the other hand, the specialist Yaniel Perez Guerra presented a work about the presence of women in the work of the Cuban artist Martha Jimenez Perez, taught in English.

This group of people, from a well-known American university, were received in the central Plaza del Carmen, next to the Martha Jimenez's Studio-Workshop. There they could also enjoy a performance by the Vocal Group Desandann, which has won numerous awards for their artistic work.
