Martha Jimenez will present her artworks in House of Cultural Diversity in Camaguey

Camaguey- The exhibition "Creole and everyday life," by the artist Martha Jimenez Perez, will be exhibited in the House of Cultural Diversity in Camaguey, since Saturday February 4, at 5:00 pm.

The opening of the exhibition will be part of the activities dedicated in the city of Camagüey, to the week of culture.

The exhibition of the painter and ceramist Martha Jimenez will be dedicated to 498 anniversary of the founding of the Villa de Santa Maria del Puerto del Principe, and to the third anniversary of the declaration of the historic center as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

Martha Jimenez, known for its life-size human sculptures located in the Plaza del Carmen, has participated in important events in Cuba and other countries, showing her art and also representative elements of Cuban culture.

With her extensive work as an artist, Martha has won several prizes, among which include the Distinction for National Culture, a prize awarded by UNESCO in 1997, and awards at the International Handicrafts Fair of Havana, in several editions. In 2010 she was the only Latin American awarded at the Biennale of Modern Art in Shanghai, China.
