Hotel in Camaguey beautified with Marta Jimenez's sculpture

Camaguey- The monumental bronze sculpture "Translation", work of artist Martha Jimenez, UNESCO Award for Best Architectural Complex "Plaza del Carmen", is appreciated here today by those who observe the dome of the Hotel Santa Maria.

In addition to the author, participated in the assembly of the work, the Caguayo Foundation and Real Estate of Tourism, who made reality a project that began in 2012, and was presented to the public in patinated plaster during the festivities for the 500th anniversary of Camaguey.

The piece at the dome of that institution with heritage values, recreates the three moments of translation of the town of Santa Maria del Puerto del Principe (Punta del Guincho, Caonao and finally the Chiefdom Camaguebax, the site of final settlement) through universal schemes that emphasize the unity of human thought.

The information provided by the author to Prensa Latina explains that the figure refers to a snoop man in search of new horizons, with faith, love, hope, tenacity, justice and order.

The sculpture seems to search with his spyglass every corner of the city, discovering with astonishment the passions of an ancient city that venerates and leaves herself to be transformed by the art of Martha Jimenez.

The Hotel Santa Maria, located in this city, declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity, about 570 kilometers east of Havana, is part of a trilogy of Encanto Hotels, recently opened to strengthen city tourism.
